Code of conduct

Expected Behavior

We want all participants to have an enjoyable and enriching experience. With this in mind, we expect all participants to demonstrate respect and courtesy toward others throughout the event (including during networking activities).

By participating in the Journées dentaires internationales du Québec (JDIQ), you agree to uphold exemplary behavior during the event and on social media. This means that you commit to acting with objectivity, kindness, and professionalism, such as:

  • Being mindful of your surroundings and that of other participants;
  • Respecting the premises and equipment made available to you;
  • Respecting everyone’s opinions;
  • Staying home if you are sick or have COVID-19 symptoms;
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of information obtained during your participation in JDIQ.

Unacceptable Behavior

However, you are not allowed to:

  • Smoke or vape outside of designated areas;
  • Consume food or beverages in conference rooms and public areas, except in designated areas;
  • Leave your cell phone ringer on during conferences: all your devices must be set to silent mode;
  • Record audio or video of a conference or workshop without the written approval of the speaker and JDIQ: when approved, recordings are provided exclusively by Dentoform;
  • Possess or consume illegal substances;
  • Damage property belonging to the organization or the event venue;
  • Engage in behavior that disturbs public order;
  • Intimidate any third party;
  • Participate in the event if you have tested positive for COVID-19;
  • Post offensive comments on participants’ social media accounts regarding the event or the JDIQ community;
  • Enter a conference room with a baby stroller.

The JDIQ is an event dedicated to exchange. No inappropriate behavior will be tolerated. We do not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment. By harassment, we mean any vexatious behavior involving repeated acts, words, or gestures, whether hostile or unwelcome, based on or not on one of the discriminatory grounds prohibited by the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms (nationality, color, gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, marital status, age except as permitted by law, religion, political convictions, language, social condition, disability, or use of a means to offset that disability); and which is likely to affect the dignity, physical or psychological integrity of the person, or to compromise their activity.

Sexual expressions and images are also inappropriate at the event, including in conferences, workshops, parties, and on social media. Participants asked to cease any discriminatory or harassing behavior must comply immediately or face penalties at the discretion of the organizers.
